Mission Statements

John McGinness, Sheriff, Sacramento County
The mission of the Citizens' Crime Alert Program is to assist
law enforcement in the identification of criminal suspects and
to reward those citizens providing information leading to the
arrest of criminals at-large. Since 1981, tips received
through this program have resulted in 1,835 solved crimes,
1,595 arrests, more than four million dollars in recovered
property, and more than $239,501 in rewards paid. I cannot
express the value the Citizens' Crime Alert Program has been
in solving crimes and allowing members of the community to
feel just a little bit safer knowing that some criminals are
being taken off the streets.

Herbert F. Long, Chairman Crime Alert Board of Directors
The mission of the Citizen's Crime Alert Reward Program is to
assist law enforcement in the identification of criminal
suspects and the apprehension of known felons who have evaded
arrest for their crimes. The Board of Directors meets on a
monthly basis, administering a standing reward fund. We
determine the amount of reward money to be awarded to
anonymous callers whose information has resulted in the
solution of crimes, the arrest of wanted suspects or the
recovery of property. The Board also conducts fundraising
activities to insure the financial stability of the reward
fund and participates in local events to promote the program.

Robert Simmons, Chief of Police City of Elk Grove
As a newly formed Police Department, we want to ensure that we use
all available resources to solve crimes. Crime Alert has proven to
be a valuable organization by allowing members of the community to
assist in the apprehension of criminals anonymously. We are
confident that our partnership with the Crime Alert Program will
continue to keep the City of Elk Grove safe and secure.
Chris Boyd, Chief of Police City of Citrus Heights
