| On May 1, 2005 at 1:27 am Sacramento Police responded to a "shots fired man down" call at an AM/PM market in the 4000 block of Norwood Ave. Arriving officers found the victim dead on the ground where he was apparently pumping gas into his car. Investigating Homicide Detectives beleived the shooting was a gang revenge killing, although the victim was not a gang member. The investigation revealed that the killer and the victim were strangers to each other. Detectives concluded the shooting was a case of mistaken identity. At 11:30 pm of the same day Tipster 05-237 called Crime Alert and identified the killer by name, physdcial description, the address where he can be found, vehicle description and the type of gun the Suspect carries. Armed with the information provided by the Tipster, Homicide Detectives were able to make a case. The Suspect was located and arrested for the murder. Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives stated that the Crime Alert Tip was critical to the case and the Homicide Sergeant credited Crime Alert with solving the case. | |
| Sex Assault | |

| Sacramento County Sheriff's Sex Assault Detectives had been investigating a series of eight sex assaults occurring in retail stores. In each case the Suspect approached and stands very close to the female victim , exposes himself and presses against the victim's hand. The investigating Detective was able to obatain a surveillance video tape from one of the stores and each victim identified the image of the Suspect as the man that assaulted them. The inmage was sent to the media seeking any help in identifing the Suspect. Shortly after the news broadcast Tipster 05-668 called Crime Alert and provided the name of the Suspect and where he can be found. The investigating detective armed with the identication of the Suspect assembled a photo line up and all the victims identified the Suspect as the one who had assaulted them. The investigating Detective credited Crime Alert with solving the case. | |

| June 2006 | |
| On June 11, 2006 at 1518 hrs. the Sacramento Police Department received a call regarding a shooting in the area of 6th St. and L St. in downtown Sacramento. Detectives learned that an altercation occurred between members of the Oak Park Bloods and G-MOBB. Two victims were shot during the altercation. One victim was killed and one victim remains in critical condition.. One June 12, 2006 at 1030 hrs. Tipster 06- 368 called Crime Alert and said the suspect in the shooting in front of Macy’s are on “Myspace.com”. The Tipster said go to Myspace.com look for “KO”, the headline on the site is “Fuck Oakland” and there is a photo of the shooter and two of the others that ran away. One of them is wearing a red cap. The Tipster thought the guy in the center was the shooter. Crime Alert found the web site, printed it and forward all the information to Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives. Homicide Detective Higgins investigated the Tip and returned the Tip Disposition Form to Crime Alert. The Disposition Form stated, “Great tip, it was very helpful and critical in arresting one suspect and very helpful in getting a murder warrant for the other suspect”. The Detective Higgins noted that the Tip helped to solve the crime. Arrested was Donta FIELDS, the murder warrant was issued for Miguel Soto ENRIQUEZ. | |

| July 2006 | |
| On Wednesday July 5, 2006 2111hrs. suspects John ALMEDA and Perry TRUJILLO were driving around the south area of Sacramento. ALMEDA was driving his 2000 white Firebird in the area of 55th St. and 15th Ave. They drove past 5360 15th Ave. and saw the victim standing in the street. As they passed TRUILLO fired approx 14 shots from the vehicle striking the victim twice in the back. The victim is paralyzed from the waist down.. On July 18, 2006 Tipster 06-445 called Crime Alert and stated that the wanted person listed in the Sacramento Bee article on the shooting was at 63rd and Manley now sitting in a 94 green and tan Ford Bronco. The Tipster’s info was immediately forwarded to the investigating Detectives. The following is Sacramento Police Detective Merten’s written comments to Crime Alert: “This Tip was instrumental in the arrest of two suspects for attempt murder. After receiving the Tip, Officers immediately set up on the location and the vehicle described. One suspect was stopped in the car and the other was arrested in the residence described by the Tipster. At the residence Officers located a Colt .380 auto pistol and 44 grams of crystal methamphetamine.” The search of the house resulted in 3 unrelated arrests. Detective Merten stated on the Crime Alert Disposition that this tip solved the attempt murder case. | |

| April 2006 | |
| On April 7, 2006, at 1:45 pm the victim and a friend were sitting in Reichmuth Park watching a movie on a portable DVD player. They were approached by a male subject who engaged them in conversation then suddenly grabbed the DVD player and ran off. The victim and his companion gave chase and caught up with suspect in the 6100 block of Holstein Ave.. The suspect stopped and with another suspect assaulted the victim, causing his death. On April 23, 2006, 1700 hrs Tipster #06-257 called Crime Alert and provided information leading to the identification of the two suspects. Tipster 06- 257 identified the two suspects as Dimitri POTTS and Glen STOUT. Homicide Detectives armed with the Tipster’s information were able to develop sufficient evidence to arrest and charge POTTS and STOUT with murder. The investigating Detective stated on the Tip Disposition Form “The tip virtually solved the case”. | |

| April 2006 | |
| On Sunday April 23, 2006 Jorge RUIZ-PADILLA was enraged that his younger brother was jumped and beaten by a group of Blacks as he came out of the LA Market, a Mexican store off of Northgate. RUIZ-PADILLA drove to the Shell gas station located at 2400 Del Paso Blvd., looking for the men responsible for beating his brother. Upon arrival at the gas station RUIZ-PADILLA saw two Black male subjects and fired several shots killing both of the subjects. The two victims, in their 40's, appeared not to have been involved in the beating. A month later on May 23, 2006, 1300 hrs., Tipster 06-343 called Crime Alert and stated that RUIZ-PADILLA was bragging about the murders. The Tipster said that RUIZ-PADILLA and two of his cousins (names unknown) went out looking for Blacks. According to the Tipster RUIZ-PADILLA shot the two Blacks in retaliation. The Tipster said the shooting of the two victims was a random act and the two victims had nothing to do with the beating. Sacramento Police Homicide Sgt. Hendrickson stated on the Tip Disposition Form that the Tip provided extensive information for the murder investigation and that all the information was valid. Sgt. Hendrickson also noted on the form that the Tip led to the arrest of RUIZ-PADILLA and solved the crime. | |

| December 2006 | |
| On Thursday December 7, 2006, at approximately 0054 hours, SPD responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Young Street and 53rd Street. Upon arrival officers found Marquis Raymond dead from multiple gunshot wounds. On December 20, 2006, 1015 hrs., Tipster 06-875 telephoned Crime Alert and provided information relating to the identity of the killer, the description and license plate number of his car. Detectives learned that the killer was Billy ALDACO. The next day, December 21, 2006, Sacrmaento Police Homicide Detectives arrested ALDACO for the murder of Marquis Raymond. Detective Higgins returned the Crime Alert Disposition Form stating that Tip 06-875 led directly to the arrest of ALDACO and also solved the crime. Detective Higgins commented on the form "great tip, moved the homicide case to a conclusion and arrest of a subject that fled from Officers." | |
